Image Makers Art - A Brief Profile
Image Makers Art, Inc. was founded in Philadelphia in 1992 to
exhibit artwork created by musicians and actors. The founders assembled
an exhibition of paintings and prints by Tony Bennett, Bob Dylan, David
Bowie, Micky Dolenz, Ron Wood, Jerry Garcia, John Lennon and others. The
show was called Image Makers Rock “N” Roll Art Expo. It went on
national tour in 1992, and continued until 1999. The tour garnered
immense media coverage including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today and VH1. In 1995 the show was invited by the city of Cleveland to be part of
the celebrations for the opening of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Image Makers Art Inc. has helped launch the art careers of
several high profile musicians, including Jon Anderson of YES, Micky
Dolenz of The Monkees and Robby Krieger of The Doors, by setting up
their exhibitions, releasing limited edition prints and promoting their
artwork.
Over the years Image Makers Art Inc. has been acquiring Jerry
Garcia’s artwork both from his publishers and from collectors. Since
1998 Image Makers Art has been touring with Jerry Garcia – A Visual
Journey, featuring one of the largest collections of the late artist’s
work. The exhibition is free to the public and offers the opportunity
for collectors and fans alike to acquire these pieces. The show has
traveled to over 50 US cities and London, England.
Image Makers Art Inc. continues to be a leader in the acquisition
and exhibition of art works by musicians and actors. Sylvester
Stallone, Anthony Quinn, Tony Curtis and Jane Seymour are among the
artists they exhibit. You can see a selection of the artwork here at
www.imagemakersart.com at one of our traveling exhibitions or by appointment.
The
provenance of all our artworks is carefully researched and verified.
All artworks are accompanied with certificates of authenticity and are
