Marc Chagall
Marc Chagall was a strong believer
in the United Nations during his lifetime. In 1989 just after artist’s death,
the World Federation of United Nations received special permission from the his
estate to publish this edition to commemorate the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. The etching was created by a master printer in France from an ink
wash drawing by Chagall on 100% pure rag arches paper. The image was chosen as
the first etching released by the United Nations and Published by The United
Nations.
