Stallone’s long lasting passion for painting led him to create this masterful artwork. I Did it Again is a song of joy, a celebration of success, love, life, family, children, and a philosophical statement all in one.
Sylvester Stallone is a self made man. His achievements are multifaceted. Among his accomplishments, he wrote, marketed and starred in the renowned Rocky story while overcoming all adversities, including his own speech disability; to become a figure of symbolic proportions.
A powerful self portrait of ingenious contemporary composition depicts Rocky / Stallone with his boxing glove clad hands raised in celebratory victory. Stallone’s abstract expressionist technique breaks beyond the boundaries of the canvas with the addition of another canvas perched atop the main canvas. His explosive primary color usage, strong flowing lines and even the prints of sneakers, take the viewer by storm. The inscription on the bottom right of the painting reads: FOR THE EYES ARE THE SCOUTS OF THE HEART.
I did it again! was exhibited across the United States, and Japan and reproduced in the catalog The World Celebrities Art Fair 2001 published by Starbright Foundation.
This monumental 4’x8’ painting would be a valuable addition to any contemporary art collection.
